Sidmouth Watersports Hub

Welcome

Our vision for the Sidmouth Watersports Hub is one designed to support all those who use the sea at Sidmouth for sports and leisure and to further exploit the fabulous sea front location as a flexible and affordable space for meetings, training and other social events.  

In the 1960’s the Sea Angling and Sailing Clubs raised significant funding in order to build the structure known as the Port Royal. Since then it has been the home of the two clubs.

Sixty years on, the watersports environment has changed, and we see ever expanding opportunities including gigs, surf lifesaving, kayaking and sea swimming demonstrating great enthusiasm to get on the water. As a result we have expanded the participating organisations to include sailing, angling, gig and surf lifesaving clubs together with the Sidmouth Lifeboat.

The Hub is run by volunteers and funding for the building is achieved from a combination of bar profit and financial contributions from the partner and affiliated clubs together with other users.

Facilities & Hiring

Ground Floor:  Changing rooms, Showers and Ladies and Gents toilets

First Floor:  Large lounge with sofas and tables and chairs, as required.  Seats around 60 for food.  A well-stocked bar, a large kitchen with plates, cutlery, and a balcony overlooking the sea.  The best seat in town!

The Hub is close to a large public car park.

Organisation

The Hub is run by a committee with members from each affiliated club.  To contact an individual club please use the links above.

The facilities are available for members of all affiliated groups.  Opening hours vary with the seasons and events.  During Folk Week and the Sidmouth Regatta the Hub serves food and drink to all.
